Dr. Erik Reis, CEO & Founder of SHIFT believes in “Prioritizing the Business of Health to Improve the Health of a Business”
While treating patients with neurological disorders and traumatic brain injuries Dr. Reis became obsessed with understanding the connection between our physicality and our brain.
As a neuroscience specialist, he sees the brain as limitless and calls it the final frontier for exploration.
On the show, he shares his journey and we discuss how movement is the key factor in our mental health and wellbeing. He even goes as far as to say that movement is the language of the brain.
We discuss how we can train our brain to work for instead of against us by using its efficiency to our advantage.
He gives tips on how to optimize workplace productivity, talks about why “gut health” is so critical, and dispels some myths about how and why habits are created.
A big believer in the role fundamentals, Dr. Reis shares exactly why sleep, nutrition, and movement are key drivers to help us be less distracted, more productive, and happier at work and in life!
This is Part 1 of a two-part interview.
